Betty Anderson

Dr Elizabeth L. Anderson (Betty) has been a Ha’Penny Board member since 2019. Betty and her husband, Ed Delaney, bought their first house on St Croix in 2004 and joined Ha’Penny in 2008. Betty and Ed particularly enjoy Loni’s exceptional menus, the long term friendships formed at Ha’Penny, and special HP opportunities to share and connect with friends from all over the Island with national and international backgrounds. Betty has a long history of service on non-profit Boards, including the Boards of VI Botanical Gardens, Chesapeake Chamber Music, Talbot County Historical Society, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, U VA Engineering Foundation Board, Toxicology Education Foundation, and EPA Foundation. Betty attended the College of William and Mary, the University of Virginia, and American University, earning a doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry. In her professional life, as a health scientist, she founded and directed U S EPA health sciences programs for 14 years before joining the private sector where she actively works with the private and public sectors, nationally and internationally to address health and environmental science challenges. while enjoying the exceptional environment of St. Croix.
